Meet Tracy Theemes

Tracy is a leading authority on the issues facing women in our economic world. She graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Master of Arts in Psychology and experienced firsthand how poverty created long term disadvantage while working with women and families in some of Vancouver’s poorest neighbourhoods

Tracy started her financial career as a financial consultant with Smith Barney, a US brokerage firm, and later worked with RBC Dominion Securities in Canada. In 2009, she co-founded Sophia Financial Group a full-service advisory firm focussed on providing a socially conscious, financial planning and investment management firm on Vancouver’s west side

In her career, Tracy has delivered hundreds of educational seminars to audiences of all sizes, including the immensely popular Sophia Wealth Academy annual event that generates thousands of dollars for the Dress for Success charity. Her most recent TEDx Talk, The Truth about Money, Power and a First Date produced over 50,000 views upon public release and continues to fuel the global #firstdatebilldebate!

Tracy’s award-winning book, The Financially Empowered Woman, has been recognized as a valuable resource for investments and personal finance winning earning both an Axiom Gold Medal and the Bronze Living Now Award. Her podcast, Wise Money Moves is steeped in engaging content and tools for managing money, relationships, and power.
